Find, call, or email The Goldminer Hotel

The Goldminer Hotel is located three miles west of the Town of Nederland, Colorado in western Boulder County just a few miles east of the Continental Divide at an altitude of 8936 feet.  The trip by car, all on year round, well maintained,  paved roads, takes a little more than an hour from the Denver International Airport depending on traffic.  The Hotel is half an hour west of Boulder, five minutes from Nederland, and is just below the base of the Eldora Mountain Resort's ski, snowboard, and cross country trails. The Goldminer is at the edge of the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area.  Free guest parking is available at the door.

Current road conditions are available from the Colorado Department of Transportation here.

From the traffic circle in Nederland drive south 6/10 of a mile on Colorado 119.  Turn right on to County Road 130 and go exactly 3.3 miles into the Town of Eldora.  Do not turn off at the Ski Area.  At the four way stop sign in Eldora (the only stop sign) turn right and go one block. Park in front or at the side of The Hotel.

For those guests using a GPS device the Hotel is located at Lat 39.949 Lon -105.570

The Regional Transportation District provides bus service to the Nederland High School, a mile and a half east of The Hotel. On summer weekends there is shuttle service from the school to The Goldminer. The bus schedule is available here.

Scott and Carol, Your Innkeepers

People ask us questions such as: "Do you live here on purpose?" Those must be people from the South on a very snowy and windy day. But yes, we do live here on purpose.

Scott first came to Eldora as a six grader in 1955.  Having watched Mickey Mouse Club he wanted an experience like the Club's "Spin and Marty." Arnold Ranch on the Gold Hill Road just north of Nederland was his choice.  The Ranch let young teenagers take multi-day horse pack trips over The Continental Divide.  A favorite route was through Eldora and over Arapaho Pass and then north and back over Buchanan Pass.  This route let them stop at The Log Cabin Grocery (just a block from The Hotel) for an ice cream soda. Carol left Iowa to go to the same camp as a cook (Scott was a Counselor by then).  After living in Iowa, Missouri, and Pennsylvania, they moved permanently to Eldora from Pennsylvania in 1986. They are now the longest term Owners of The Hotel since it was built in 1897.

Unfortunately, while The Goldminer was issued the first liquor license by The Town in March, 1898, today we do not have a bar. This picture was taken in Deadwood, South Dakota.  But we do invite you to join us in The Social Room for refreshments.
