Canyon Reopening

Following a 500 year storm the Front Range of Colorado experienced incredible flooding. There was no flooding here at the Goldminer. At almost 9,000 feet in elevation we are above almost everything. Still transportation to and from Eldora to Denver and Boulder has been difficult. What was a half an hour scenic trip turned into two hours over dirt roads or an even longer detour to the South. Before Boulder Canyon was opened in the 1950s it was known as the Boulder wagon road. By horseback it was a day's trip with a change of horses at Boulder Falls. Recently people have suggested that it had gone back to that. Probably an embellishment but....

On Sunday, November 3rd we will celebrate the end of the "Wagon Road," we hope. Come and join us at The Goldminer.
